where is ART? 40North 88West

I know my blog is a video, not an image. however, while I was surfing the web,( surface51.com) that had lead me to explore and learn about 40 North 88 West. I have stumbled on to this video that was made to promote art and sponsorship by 40 North 88 West.
The simplicity of the message and the way it is delivered are brilliant, and they could have never been accomplished without the ingenues of graphic design. This also translate to contemporary at its best-I believe.
PLease look up this sites:

I am my own wife

I have found then scanned this strong image that had won an award in 2010 for graphic design.
It had caught my attention because of the strong message that the designer had succeeded to deliver and showed us how strong that woman is.  He succeeded by to do so by using constructivism style of design, " a solid red background to symbolize authority, the black motifs are a mixture of communist symbol that translate to a revolution, and also the use of the swastika, the Nazi symbol that symbolize dominance.
The designer had thought very well of the image that he so creating, he was so clever that he included a nickels to the figure to imply that she is a woman. The white nickels also complemented and balanced the type font. All I can say about the typeface is, it is defiantly matching the mood of entire image.

ACT

This Image was made for  Environmental graphics for Nelson Mandela  by the design firm Ralph Appelbaum Associates.
I just thought that this is a great example pf typography, and how is can be used in graphic design.
the design looks very simple and easy to make, but I dont think so, they were a lot of thoughts and time that had been put into this so it can look so simple.
very will organized.
