Indonesian Coffe Hour!

Aposter for parkland College event, it was designed my my self, I have used the Indonesian colors from the flag and also the bird looking symbol from their old flag to design a contemporary poster, and the reason for the lines on the write was to balance the bird and to hols the word "HOUR" because it was about to fall down.

Brasil Coffe Hour!

This was the poster for the Brazilian Coffee Hour that was held at Parkland College. I have designed this poster to be Swiss and contemporary, for a very long time I have wanted to use the letters in a cut out box. and i think I have succeeded in this poster.

Cobra sport

Parkland College Cobras, the athletics department. I have designed this poster for them as a concept for a series of poster that cover all the sports, they will be basketball, volleyball and all the other sports that the college provide. the photography was made posible by Tammala King. I was influenced by contemporary design and the idea of showing the athletes in a professional look. I just had had that idea or vison of the concept and i think it had came out really good.

ESL can be made in Swiss

this is a book cover designed for the ESL program at parkland college. Swiss influenced, where the colors represent the season (spring.)
designer: Mohamed Dardiri.

Tiepolo

A poster design made to promote the font Tiepolo, I design it based on the gride concept, also Swiss design. clean and simple. the pen had been added to resumable the uniqueness of the font, because the font look like it hand written.

Buzz- Swiss style

Buzz magazine concept design for their spacial issue of the local music guide. I have came up with the idea of the cover while i was learning about Josef Muller Brockmann, so it is only fair to acknowledge him as the mean influence of the design by the music poster concept. clean, consistant simple gride that makes the people make up the message.Swiss.

where is ART? 40North 88West

I know my blog is a video, not an image. however, while I was surfing the web,( surface51.com) that had lead me to explore and learn about 40 North 88 West. I have stumbled on to this video that was made to promote art and sponsorship by 40 North 88 West.
The simplicity of the message and the way it is delivered are brilliant, and they could have never been accomplished without the ingenues of graphic design. This also translate to contemporary at its best-I believe.
PLease look up this sites:

I am my own wife

I have found then scanned this strong image that had won an award in 2010 for graphic design.
It had caught my attention because of the strong message that the designer had succeeded to deliver and showed us how strong that woman is.  He succeeded by to do so by using constructivism style of design, " a solid red background to symbolize authority, the black motifs are a mixture of communist symbol that translate to a revolution, and also the use of the swastika, the Nazi symbol that symbolize dominance.
The designer had thought very well of the image that he so creating, he was so clever that he included a nickels to the figure to imply that she is a woman. The white nickels also complemented and balanced the type font. All I can say about the typeface is, it is defiantly matching the mood of entire image.

ACT

This Image was made for  Environmental graphics for Nelson Mandela  by the design firm Ralph Appelbaum Associates.
I just thought that this is a great example pf typography, and how is can be used in graphic design.
the design looks very simple and easy to make, but I dont think so, they were a lot of thoughts and time that had been put into this so it can look so simple.
very will organized.

The cover was designed for a Colorado electro-pop that Motte's brother play in it.
The hand gesture is the band symbol (303) very nice right!
and the golden skin was to resemble the streets of gold.

U of I print shop

This is an example of an old letter press machine at the University of Illinois that is not in use anymore; however, I have been told that they use it some time to make honorary doctor certificate.
I think it is fascinating to learn about how hard it use to be to print.
